Historical Maps of Istanbul (Special Edition Boxed Set)

The atlas, predominantly featuring maps from the 14th to 19th centuries specially prepared for Istanbul by British, French, German, and Russian cartographers, also includes historical maps of Istanbul in Italian, Greek, Hungarian, Armenian, and Swedish.

The book "Maps of Istanbul in History" for the first time presents descriptions and detailed drawings of the Darius Hyspastes and Xerxes bridges built over the Istanbul and Dardanelles straits between 513-480 BC, based on Homer's account of Istanbul's ancient period, which was chosen as a settlement area in the same years as Rome, as depicted in maps drawn in the 17th and 18th centuries.

Many maps and documents compiled from libraries around the world have been brought together in this book for the first time.

The atlas "Maps of Istanbul in History," prepared in Turkish and English, is a continuation of the "Maps of Turkey in History" atlas.

The book "Maps of Istanbul in History," prepared and published by Bülent Özükan in Boyut Yayın Grubu's Collection Books series, constitutes the sixth in the series of large-format (51.5 x 35 cm) books published on Ottoman and Turkish geography.
