Product Description

Architecture from Tinplate was written with the belief that the source of innovative, original, and qualified architecture is the architect himself. It presents a journey of discovery undertaken to review one's own architectural consciousness, not according to generally accepted judgments, but with a different approach, from its two-author structure to its overall concept, from its chapter titles to its references.

We encounter a text where scientific and academic texts on architecture, interviews, biographies, autobiographies, intellectual and practical experiences are intertwined; an attempt to emerge from the vast field of architecture and look at it from the outside. It is built on the dialogue of the authors' intellectual accumulation filtered from their long architectural careers. This construct blurs the boundaries of known writing styles and makes the established understanding of architecture debatable.

The design quality of architecture is hidden in the relationship between the architect and the object he produces. This relationship must be constantly questioned and re-established to clarify, develop, and transmit architectural thought to the future. The primary purpose of questioning is not to improve architecture, but for the architect to freely build himself, secure in his fundamental principles and values. To free his existence, the architect must avoid identifying with the object, dare to alienate himself from the process, and show the courage to step outside of ongoing architectural practice.
