Base of Salt - The Making of a First Film

The film The Pillar of Salt, which had its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival in 2018, tells the story of a pregnant woman searching for her twin sister. The film, which at times leans towards surreal storytelling, was directed by Burak Çevik when he was 23 years old.

The book The Pillar of Salt - The Making of a Debut Film, edited by İpek Şoran, includes Çevik's foreword, four texts that describe the film's production process from different perspectives, a comprehensive selection of set photographs, and the film's screenplay. The screenplay included in the book is the version sent to the technical team and actors before filming, revealing how much the text changed during filming and editing.
