The work, which emerged from the materials collected during the trips to Vienna in July 2006 and Chicago in July 2007, as well as the studies conducted in the 2005-06 and 2006-07 academic years within the scope of the compulsory course titled “ARCH 592: Excursion (World Cities)” offered in the Bilgi-Architecture Master's Program, was prepared in cooperation with santralistanbul and Vitra.
The course “ARCH 592: Excursion (World Cities)” was included in the program with the aim of reinforcing topics in modern urban development history and modern architectural history by focusing on one of the cities that has shaped global discourse, and deepening knowledge of modern architectural culture. It is conducted throughout the academic year with seminars related to the city and its architecture chosen for that year, and is completed with a 10-day research and exploration-focused trip at the end of the academic year.
