FOREWORD

This book has been prepared as an advanced reference book for those studying in the fields of engineering and architecture. Care has been taken to ensure that the topics are presented in a concise manner and contain content that users absolutely need to know. The topics are entirely practice-oriented and include examples from real-world applications. The quality of each material component is a prerequisite for a high-quality structural element and thus for the entire structure. For this reason, there is an exceptionally close relationship between building materials, structural elements, and the overall quality of the building. Based on this idea, materials have been correlated with building applications in terms of their physical, chemical, and mechanical properties.
