Building Technical Drawing Volume 1-2

Technical drawing is a common communication tool between those who explain their designs with lines and those who use them to transform the design into production. The flawless understanding and application of this tool is the first and important condition for works to be made flawlessly and completely.

We have prepared this book to provide the drawing principles, which are the common language of technical school students at all levels who will take part in construction production and construction technicians, together.

In the book, in order to ensure the relationship between the topics, we deemed it appropriate to provide general technological information about building elements. Especially since the standards covering all the principles related to building technical drawings have not yet been completed, some differences, albeit small, are observed in the drawing methods, signs and symbols currently in use. In order not to cause hesitation to the readers in this regard, in addition to the generally applied drawing principles, various explanation methods that may be encountered in some projects have also been taken into consideration. For this purpose, while creating the source for the preparation of the book, the methods followed in our technical education institutions and the practices of professional chambers and investor public institutions for the same subjects have also been taken into consideration.

Our book consists of two volumes. The first volume covers basic preliminary information, and the second volume covers architecture, reinforced concrete, installation, and infrastructure projects. As it is known, building structures and their installations and infrastructures are specialized subjects with linear narration features that are distinct from each other. Each of these requires multi-faceted and voluminous studies. For this reason, the elements of building structures and the drawing and reading of projects have been covered in detail, while general principles and example drawings have been provided for the preparation of installation and infrastructure projects.

We will be very pleased if any shortcomings in our book are reported to us and by the criticisms of our readers.
